Before you subscribe to the host provider your friend is with, or sign up with the most popular host according to the internet or your peers, it would be to your advantage is you did your share of independent research. The last thing you want to happen is to sign up for a company and part with your hard earned money in order to pay for services you don’t need and functions you won’t use.
Before you start looking for host providers, you must first make a list of the services you need. Some providers will offer several email addresses, email forwarding functions, domain name registration and hundreds of GB worth of storage but, do you really need all that? Getting all these services for a small price may sound like a bargain but if you’re not going to use all these, you’re just spending money that may have been used elsewhere. Once you’ve determined what you really need and identified the amount you can spend monthly or yearly for subscription fees, then proceed with your search.
There are several providers operating in the market, and they all offer packages that are slightly different from another. All the technical information may be confusing so, instead of checking out a host provider’s website, go to web host reviews instead. Host reviews are independently run sites that itemize a host’s service package. In addition, host reviews also show star ratings and third-party client feedback, as left by external reviewers, that focus mainly on a host’s services.
